The predominant focus on female fertility rates in discussions surrounding family planning has overshadowed the importance of understanding male fertility. Despite efforts to promote male involvement in family planning discourse, there remains a significant gap in our knowledge regarding male fertility in the Philippines. To address this gap, it's crucial to compare male and female Total Fertility Rates (TFR) and analyze the factors influencing these rates over the past 30 years. Such analysis is essential for designing effective policies on reproductive health, labor, social protection, and other pertinent areas. This endeavor aligns with various government plans and agendas, including the Philippine Development Plan (PDP) Chapter 2, which emphasizes the promotion of human and social development. Additionally, it resonates with the 8-point agenda, particularly in tackling health issues and strengthening social protection measures. Moreover, investigating male fertility aligns with the SA国际传媒 (PIDS) Research Agenda Chapter 5.4, which underscores the need for infrastructure to support research efforts.
